Season 1: Week 1 Challenges

Dr. Smartbrayn - Mentos Challenge

Supplies:

  • Diet Coke
  • Mentos
  • Camera
  • Whatever other supplies you want

According to Wikipedia:

A Diet Coke and Mentos eruption (also known as a soda geyser) is a reaction between the carbonated beverage Diet Coke and Mentos mints that causes the beverage to spray out of its container. The candies catalyze the release of gas from the beverage, which creates an eruption that pushes most of the liquid up and out of the bottle.[1][2]

This phenomenon has sparked a myriad of “scientific” experiments, Dr. Smartbrayn would like your team to create the most impressive soda geyser ever. This can be in any form you choose-use your smart brain to come up with something amazing. You can have as many attempts as you like but only one final submission video (outtake videos are also appreciated).

The 3 most impressive eruptions will be awarded bonus points.

*Safety Notice:

Do NOT try to consume diet coke and mentos
Do not shoot mentos rockets at each other
Please use some measure of common sense when conducting this experiment
